Hey guys!

Inside Out

A book that brings you joy.

Archie Vol. 1Archie Vol. 1 by Mark Waid. I recently read this one and I am blown away by how happy Archie and the gang still bring me joy. This a reboot of the classic group of friends we all most likely grew up reading in comics.

Archie is a world wide phenomenon now being re-imagined by the brilliant writer Mark Waid and illustrated by Fiona Staples, Annie Wu, and Veronica Fish. Somewhat of a new beginning for Archie and Co. Pick it up and fall back in love with Archie, Betty, Jughead, Veronica and even Reggie!

A book that brings you sadness.

More Happy Than NotMore Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera. This book is one sad story after another. There is no happy ending, but that’s ok too. The main character, Aaron learns that life will throw you many curve balls, but it is up to you on how you hit them.

Dealing with homosexuality, homophobia, suicide, abuse, and poor decisions, this book has it all. Grab your tissues, because you’re in for a sad one!

A book that brings you fear.

MercilessThe Merciless by Danielle Vega. I haven’t even read this book yet, but the synopsis has me shitting myself. Here is a little snippet:

Forgive us, Father, for we have sinned

Brooklyn Stevens sits in a pool of her own blood, tied up and gagged. No one outside of these dank basement walls knows she’s here. No one can hear her scream.

Sofia Flores knows she shouldn’t have gotten involved. When she befriended Riley, Grace, and Alexis on her first day at school, she admired them, with their perfect hair and their good-girl ways. They said they wanted to save Brooklyn. They wanted to help her. Sofia didn’t realize they believed Brooklyn was possessed.”

A book that brings you anger.

The Shadow QueenThe Shadow Queen by C.J. Redwine. A recent read of mine. And why you ask does this book bring me anger? Well, when you kill off the only likeable cahracter in the whole story, it tends to bring out the anger in me.

Maybe I’m the only one who felt this way, maybe I’m not. But if you’ve read it and feel the same way let me know! Let’s vent together. NOT EVEN THE DRAGONS COULD SAVE THIS BOOK FOR ME!

A book that brings you disgust.

Althea & OliverAlthea & Oliver by Cristina Moracho. This book deals with rape in a poor way and I didn’t like it what so ever. I don’t have many words to describe how utterly repulsed I am of this story and it’s execution of such a sensitive subject matter.

I have read many other great books that deal with this in a much better way and will continue to read them. But this one can go burn for all I care.
