“TALE AS OLD AS TIME” – A POPULAR THEME, TROPE OR SETTING YOU WILL NEVER GET BORED OF READING
I don’t think I will ever get sick of the dark and brooding Prince trope. I love me some troubled, sad looking princes. They have a lot of things to deal with internally and it always adds depth to their character.
And who can really resist the dark and brooding? No heroine ever. (Ok, maybe some… but very rare)
BELLE – A BOOK YOUR BOUGHT FOR IT’S BEAUTIFUL COVER THAT’S JUST AS BEAUTIFUL INSIDE TOO
We Are the Ants by Shaun David Hutchinson is such a beautiful book inside and out! You have to read it for yourselves to see what I mean. Seriously. Go add it to your TBR now. I will wait.
BEAST – A BOOK YOU DIDN’T EXPECT MUCH FROM BUT PLEASANTLY SURPRISED YOU
Paper Princess by Erin Watt. I went into this book knowing there would be rich boys, sex, and drama. But what I walked away with was all of that and more depth and multi dimensional characters!
GASTON – A BOOK EVERYONE LOVES THAT YOU DON’T
Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Cordova. I just could not connect with the story like I wanted. I love witchcraft and books about that subject matter… but this one just couldn’t hit it’s mark for me unfortnately.
LEFOU – A LOYAL SIDEKICK YOU CAN’T HELP BUT LOVE MORE THAN THEIR COUNTER PART
I can 100% say that Iko from The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer was so much more lovable then Cinder herself. Where Iko is funny and sarcastic, Cinder is bland and typical.
Anyone who has read the series will hopefully agree with me on that on!
MRS. POTT, CHIP, LUMIER & COGSWORTH – A BOOK THAT HELPED YOU THROUGH A DIFFICULT TIME OR THAT TAUGHT YOU SOMETHING VALUABLE
Boy Robot by Simon Curtis has a strong message about the struggles of oppression and being different. From getting bullied, to being sexually, verbally, and physically assaulted. We need to treat everyone as equals no matter what their gender, ethnicity, or sexual orientations are. We are all humans!
“SOMETHING THERE” – A BOOK OR A SERIES THAT YOU WEREN’T INTO AT FIRST BUT PICKED UP TOWARDS THE END
The Legend Trilogy by Marie Lu. This came out during the rise of peak of the dystopian craze and I could honestly say I was just not interested. But last year I decided that it was finally time to start and I ended up marathoning all three because they were just so good!
“BE OUR GUEST” – A FICTIONAL CHARACTER YOU’D LOVE TO HAVE OVER FOR DINNER
Just one??? Why can’t I host a dinner party instead and invite many? You know what? It’s my party and I can do whatever I want, so I invite:
Hermoine (Harry Potter), Jessamy (Court of Fives), Cleo and Magnus (Falling Kingdoms), Adelina (The Young Elites), August (This Savage Song), Daniel and Natasha (The Sun is Also a Star), Kaz and Wylan (Six of Crows), and Nemesis (The Diabolic).
I TAG YOU
AND EVERYONE ELSE!
Until next time,
