If you were to be granted three wishes what will be your three wishes be and why? And no, you can’t try to be clever and wish for more wishes.
This is always such a tough question to answer. Parts of me want to be like Mother Theresa and try to save the world, but other parts want to be greedy and wish for an unlimited supply of tea. But here goes nothing. (Don’t judge)
- Free books for life (My only selfish wish)
- Better living conditions for all countries in the world. Be it third world or first world.
- Peace on Earth. (Oh how Miss America of me) But it’s the truth. There is too much hate in this world.
What book/series do you believe is highly overrated?Underrated?
One highly overrated book series would have to go to The Divergent series by Veronica Roth. The books have been recommend to me so many times but I just can’t seem to get past the first book. I’m just not liking the series as a whole. Maybe that will change when I get to finishing it… but until then I will say its really overrated for what it is. As for the underrated one I would have to say The Splintered Series by A.G. Howard. Why? Because I just don’t seem to see enough of it around the blogosphere or booktube. A lot of people say it’s on their TBR, but they just aren’t reading them! That’s just my observations.
If you had to choose to live without one of your five senses (see, smell, touch, taste, and hear) which one would you give up and why? (I know this may be tough, but I’m curious as what you would all say)
This one might be a bit easy for me. It’s a tie between smell and touch and here’s why:
I love to read. Way too much! So I would like my sight to do so. I also love music too much therefore I need my hearing to enjoy it to it’s fullest capacity. In my mind I am a huge fatass. I just love to eat and would not enjoy it if I couldn’t taste all the flavors. Now I smell could go hand in hand with taste as the two sort of work together but I can’t say I would absolutely need it. And as for touch I just don’t know if I would miss that. Hmmm… to be continued?
What are some of the common tropes in these books that you are tired of seeing? What are some that you absolutely will never get tired of seeing?
It’s tough to say. But I think I could without the “one special girl that can save the world” crap. I feel like every book has this and I’m tired of it. As for the one I can’t get tired of seeing is the asshole/cocky princes. There is just something about their arrogance that ignites my soul.
There’s a saying that “the book is always better than the movie”. However, there are rare instances that this may not be the case. Was there a film adaptation that you thought was much better than the actual book?
Dare I say the Twilight movies? As much as I enjoyed the books (I’m not afraid to admit that) except for the second one, I must say that I enjoyed the movies a lot more. They brought everything to life that fell flat in the books and R-Pats was a sexy Edward. (And only when he’s Edward. It must be all that makeup)
What makes a book your favorite? Is it the plot, the characters, is it because it changes your life/inspirational, or is it down to memory and circumstance, etc…..
I think it’s a mix of a great cast of characters and the thrill of the story. I will use my all time favorite series Falling Kingdoms as the prime example. There is magic, politics, action and adventure, rebels, assassins, betrayal, murder, and surprises around every corner. Add that plus the amazing cast of characters such as Cleo, Magnus, Nic, Ashur, Lysandra, King Gauis etc. then it becomes my favorite. It’s as simple as that.
In your opinion who is the worst literary couple ever?
Oh, a tough one. Dare I say Ron and Hermoine from the Harry Potter series? Not that I wanted Hermoine to be with Harry… I just don’t think Ron and Hermoine mesh well together. I find it a bit bizarre in a way. Maybe all three of them should have just ended being with separate people. (Don’t hate me)
Who is your favorite book villain and why?
I’ve mentioned this quite a lot in the past, but I would probably have to say it’s Queen Levana from The Lunar Chronicles series. She is just so ruthless. I don’t think she has a moral born in her body which is also why I like her so much. She’s just the perfect villain in my opinion.
Imagine living in a society like Fahrenheit 451 where reading is forbidden and books are burned. Through what lengths will you go to make sure that your books are not burned? Like what would you do to make sure no one finds them?
What kind of nightmare is this? Absolutely crazy. I don’t even know where to begin with answering this question. I think I would probably just want to be burned at the stake if I can’t have my books. (Too much? Maybe I’m just a martyr deep down)
Throughout your whole life, what do you believe has been the greatest advice you ever received?
Basically my whole life my mother has always said to do what makes me the happiest. Now I may have struggled with that very notion so far in my life, but over the course of a year I think I have finally come to realize what she means by it. I just have to be myself. No one else can make me happy but me. If I live my life the way I want to, then that is when I will truly be happy.
