Seasons of Book Blogging Tag

Seasons-of-Book-Blogging

Hey guys!

I was tagged by Calliope from Calliope the Book Goddess to do the Seasons of Book Blogging Tag!! Thanks for the tag girl!

The Rules:

  • Thank the creator (so she can see your answers) and the person who tagged you.
  • Begin with the month in which you have been tagged and move forward from there.
  • State the best gift you’ve ever been given after you answer the question for your birthday month.
  • Tag whomever you’d like to when you’re finished, or else you’ll be “it” forever.
  • Have fun!

March is the month for luck and new beginnings. Name a book or series that you would like to re-experience as if you’d never read it.

I loved the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins so much that I would love to experience it again as if I’ve never read them before!

MARCH is my birth month and the greatest birthday gift I ever received was my GameBoy Color (Teal) with Pokemon Crystal from my parents! Such fond memories of me and my GameBoy!!

April is a spectacularly ordinary month. Name a book that was so over-hyped that it just could not live up to your expectations.

Throne of Glass

Throne of Glass just wasn’t anything special. Sorry! On the plus side it does get better as the books go on!

May is the month when flowers start to bloom. Name a book that was a pleasant surprise to you.

The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley

I instantly fell in love with this book! Which is surprising because at the time of reading it, I didn’t really like much contemporary books. But thanks to this one I tend to read more of them!

June is the time to take a break. Name a book or genre that you like to read when you just need to check out.

I read fantasy and sci-fi like crazy! It’s my favorite genres and the ones I usually gravitate towards in book stores. BUT sometimes my brain is so overwhelmed with it that I need a good contemporary to ease my way back into a high fantasy!

July is the time to celebrate your independence! Name a book that made you see fireworks (Figuratively. Please don’t light books on fire).

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THESE BOOKS MADE ME SEE FIREWORKS!

August is the hottest month of the year. Pick an up-and-coming author that you think will be the next hottest thing.

Shaun David Hutchinson

Shaun David Hutchinson has written a few books now that I absolutely adore! But I feel like they and him are not talked about enough. I want him to see even more success then now!

September is time for students to go back to school! Pick a book you read for school that you actually enjoyed.

The Outsiders

Those who follow me already know The Outsiders is the only book I read in school that I actually liked…

October is time to celebrate Halloween! Pick one character that you would love to dress-up as for Halloween.

Magnus Bane

All I need to do is put on the eye make up and I will literally look like Magnus Bane! Maybe add a little more outrageous fashion choices and I will have the perfect costume!!

November is the when we’re reminded of how much we have to be thankful for. Choose one book you’re grateful for having read and give a shout-out to the person who recommend it!

Steel Heart

Big thanks to Joey from Thoughts and Afterthoughts for recommending Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson to me. I LOVED this one!

December is a time when friends and families come together and celebrate. Name one book you would give as a gift.

Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda

If only I knew more people who read. I would give EVERYONE this book for Christmas if that were the case!

January begins a new year. Name a resolution you made this year and if you’ve kept it or not!

I don’t make resolutions because I don’t like breaking promises. But what I did want to achieve this year was a more balanced life with the blog, social and work. I can say I’m pretty happy with the way things are turning out so far!

February is the month for relationships. Name your favorite book relationship: romantic, platonic or familial, your choice!

I love the friendship and the dynamic between Darrow and Sevro from the Red Rising trilogy by Pierce Brown. Their bromance was on point!

Sorry I Don’t Love Them | Top 10 Tuesday [#29]

TOP-10-TUESDAY-NEW

Hey guys!

Welcome back to another Top 10 Tuesday weekly fun on my blog! Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. If you want to join in the fun, hop on over to their blog to see what it’s all about!

This week’s topic is Top 10 Characters Everyone Loves But I Don’t.

I love having unpopular opinions. It makes me unique and sets me apart from other book lovers! So I apologize if I dislike a character you like. It’s nothing personal… it’s just that they suck. Simple.

10. Peeta from the Hunger Games

Peeta

He was a bore to read. Complete snoozefest.

9. Jace from the Mortal Instruments

Jace

Hot as he may be… he was no Alec/Magnus.

8. Rhys from A Court of Thorns and Roses

Rhys

I couldn’t stand how he treated Feyre. It was so uncomfortable to read.

7. Chaol from Throne of Glass

Chaol again

Whine, whine, whine. That’s all he does!

6. Maven from Red Queen

Maven

For reasons I will not disclose.

5. Day from Legend

Day

No sympathies for him. Don’t see how he was the face of a revolution!

4. Draco from Harry Potter

Draco

He was cruel to my favorite character Hermoine. So it’s obvious where my loyalties lie.

3. Cinder from Lunar Chronicles

Cinder

No emotional attachment to her at all… mediocre character.

2. Alina from Shadow and Bone

ALina

Not my favorite heroine. I wouldn’t have minded if the series only revolved around Nikolai and the Darkling!

1. Celaena from Throne of Glass

Celaena

This is pre-Aelin days. She was a mess.

Well there you have it! Top 10Characters Everyone Loves But I Don’t. Do you agree with my choices? What popular characters do you not like?

Until next time,

The Book Love Tag | Books at Dawn

The-Book-Love-Tag2

Hey guys!

I was tagged on Valentine’s Day (today) by Deanna at A Novel Glimpse to do The Book Love Tag! I thought with a couple hours left on this love day, why not throw out a last minute tag. Thanks Deanna!

Your favorite book couple.

My current favorite couple is Darrow and Virginia from the Red Rising Trilogy! I love the dynamic of Reaper and Mustang so much. As much as my heart broke for Eo, I think Darrow finally met his match with Virginia!

Your top 3 book boy/girlfriends.

My current top book boyfriends go to Magnus Damora (FK), Magnus Bane (TMI), and Kaz Brekker (SoC)! Back off if you want to keep your hands ladies… I mean it!

Imagine your favorite book couple. Who would propose, and how? (If there’s already been a proposal: who would be more into organizing the wedding?)

DarrowVirginia

I honestly think Darrow would be the one to propose. He would have his crew fly them out on a mission to an abandoned planet where he would then take her beneath the stars of the galaxy and promise her the universe on one knee.

Unpopular opinions time! Name a popular pairing you can’t stand.

Eleanor and Park

Sorry not sorry… Eleanor and Park. They just did nothing for me. Such a bland pairing!

What’s your favorite and least favorite romance trope?

My favorite romantic trope is the Star-crossed Lovers Trope. Just because who doesn’t love a good Romeo and Juliet story!

My least favorite trope is the Friend to Lover Trope. Not all best friends become lovers ok? So stop it authors. Just stop it!

Do you ship non-canon couples often? Name some if you do.

Oh hey, I guess I do! They deserve some love too don’t ya think?

Finnie (Finnick/Annie) from the Hunger Games Trilogy.

Captain Cress (Captain Thorne/Cress) from the Lunar Chronicles Series.

Wysper (Wylan/Jesper) from Six of Crows.

Your opinion on love triangles. Go!

I don’t mind love triangles to be honest. It all depends on the writing of them. They do make for some interesting drama when it comes down to it. And it keeps you on edge waiting and hoping that your ship is the one that makes it in the end!

Favorite and least favorite love triangle?

KatPeetGal

Favorite Love Triangle goes to ………… Katniss/Peeta/Gale! I wasn’t rooting for anyone in particular. So I was happy in the end with the choice Katniss made!

Twlight

Least Favorite Love Triangle goes to………. Bella/Edward/Jacob. Why? It’s not because I hated the Twilight series (because I don’t… I secretly love it), it’s because Jacob is a useless waste of page space. Bye bye Jacob… don’t come back!

Sometimes romance just isn’t the way to go. Favorite friendship?

HarRonHer

Shocker? Oh please. You seen this one coming! The friendship of Harry/Ron/Hermoine is going down in the history books. There’s no greater friendship!

What’s your favorite scene with your bookish OTP?

SiBaz

That first kiss between Simon & Baz. Do I need to say more?

Uh no I don’t.

Imagine your favorite book couple again. Who’s most excited about Valentine’s Day (either ironically or genuinely)?

DarrowVirginia

To be honest I feel like neither of them would show that they are excited for Valentine’s Day… but secretly I know they will have romantic shit planned for each other. Secret romantics right there!

CREDITS FROM ALL IMAGES TO THE OWNERS.

I hope you had a great Valentine’s Day with the people you love the most, whether it be your partner, parents, friends or family! Just spread some love today y’all!

Until next time,

Author Duos That Need to Write a Book Together | Top 10 Tuesday [13]

Top-10-TuesdayHey guys!

Welcome back to another Top 10 Tuesday weekly fun on my blog! Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. If you want to join in the fun, hop on over to their blog to see what it’s all about!

This week’s topic is Top 10 Author Duos That Need to Write a Book Together.

I found this topic to be a real hard one to do. I kind of prefer the books I read to be written by one person. But since this is a long shot from happening in real life I decided to team up authors who write similar genres that could probably come up with EPIC stories together. Let’s see who I’ve paired up!

10. Rainbow Rowell & Sarah Dessen

Rainbow Rowell Sarah DessenThese are some of the queens of contemporary and I feel like together they would be able to write the perfect romance filled with heartbreak and happiness!

Space

9. Leigh Bardugo & Victoria Aveyard

Leigh Bardugo Victoria AveyardThis might be an unpopular one, but since I’m full of unpopular opinions, then why not. They both write great books with cool superpowers. So with Bardugo’s written perfection and Aveyard’s over the top cinematic ideas, I think this duo would be able to write an awesome fantasy series!

Space

8. Suzanne Collins & Marie Lu

Suzanne Collins Marie LuI feel like these ladies are the queens of dystopians. They have widely succesful series’ already under their belts so why not team up and write one together. Only good things could come from both of these authors!

Space

7. Sarah J. Maas & David Dalglish

Sarah J. Maas David DalglishBoth Maas and Dalglish have series with pretty freaking badass assassin’s set in similar worlds so why not merge the two and have a crossover type book with Celaena and Aaron fighting alongside each other. Or sent to kill each other. That would be EPIC!

Space

6. Jennifer Niven & Jasmine Warga

Jennifer Niven Jasmine WargaThese ladies both released their debut novels this year and both practically had me tears after reading them. They really know how to pull on your heart strings. Therefore they should team up and have me crying like a big baby reading their book together.

Space

5. Sara Raasch & Morgan Rhodes

Sara Raasch Morgan RhodesThese two ladies know how to write an epic fantasy adventure! I’m in love with both their series’ that I feel like they should team up and write an EPIC story about kingdoms, magic, and death! I would be first in line for that one!

Space

4. Pierce Brown & Marissa Meyer

Pierce Brown Marissa MeyerCan we just take a step back and appreciate Pierce Brown’s author photo for a minute. I have the biggest crush on that guy.

Anyway… both Brown and Meyer have what it takes to write the best sci-fi adventures. With Brown’s kickass brutality, and Meyer’s magical fairytales, I think they would be able to write something amazing together.

Space

3. Cassandra Clare & Stephenie Meyer

Cassandra Clare Stephenie MeyerThe Queens of supernatural YA. I don’t care what you guys say about Twilight and The Mortal Instruments, but they are golden! Which is why I think these two ladies right here would be able to make something special with vampires, werewolves and anything else they would be able to create together!

Space

2. Adam Silvera & Becky Albertalli

Adam Silvera Becky AlbertalliHaving just released their debut novels this year, these two have sky rocketed to my favorite authors lists. They write truly meaningful LGBTQ stories and I would die of happiness if they teamed up together to make another one!

Space

1. Morgan Rhodes & Sarah J. Maas

Morgan Rhodes Sarah J. MaasAnd here we have the most EPIC author duo that could ever happen (at least for me). Two of my all time favorites right here. Both write high fantasy and have series’ that I am totally in love with.

If they were to team up, then the world would be complete and they could do no wrong together!

Space

Well there you have it! The Top 10 Author Duos That Need to Write a Book Together. Do we share any of the same duos? Who would you choose? Let me know down below!

Authors I’ve Read the Most Books From | Top 10 Tuesday [5]

TOP10TUESDAYHey guys!

Welcome back to another Top 10 Tuesday weekly fun on my blog! Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. If you want to join in the fun, hop on over to their blog to see what it’s all about!

This week’s topic is Authors I’ve Read the Most Books From. I’ve only taken the reading game seriously for a couple years now, so this was a little difficult for me to do. I feel like the majority of authors on this list are only on here because I haven’t read that many books from the same writers. But oh well, it still sounds like a fun topic to do!

Check out who made my list:

10. John Green (2)

The Fault in Our Stars Paper TownsI’ve read 2 of John Green’s books. They just so happen to be his two most popular works of fiction!

Paper Towns & The Fault in Our Stars

9. Marissa Meyer (2)

Cinder ScarletI’ve only read the first two books in the Lunar Chronicles, but I am currently working on the third as we speak!

Cinder & Scarlet

8. J.K. Rowling (2)

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone Chamber of SecretsYes I know… I’m late on the Hogwarts Express to reading this magical series from almost twenty years ago. But you must know that I have seen all the movies! Don’t hate me, I’m getting there.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone &

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

7. Suzanne Collins (3)

The Hunger Games Catching Fire Mockingjay

Yay for trilogies! I wonder if she will be writing any more books? I’m guessing it’s hard to come back after such a huge success that these books spawned. Oh well.

The Hunger Games & Catching Fire & Mockingjay

6. A.G. Howard (3)

Splintered Unhinged Ensnared

Here’s another trilogy coming your way! A.G. Howard knocked it out of the park with this series! I am super excited for the collection of novellas coming in book form in 2016. My little collection will be complete.

Splintered & Unhinged & Ensnared

5. Marie Lu (4)

Legend Prodigy Champion The Young Elites

Yes that’s right. An author who is continuing to write after their first trilogy! I’m pretty sure I’ll buy anything this lady puts out there.

Legend & Prodigy & Champion

The Young Elites

4. Stephanie Meyer (4)

Twilight New Moon Eclipse Breaking Dawn

Yeah I read this series in high school, and yeah I liked it too! I’m not ashamed at all. Although looking back I probably would not read them again. Moving on…

Twilight & New Moon & Eclipse & Breaking Dawn

3. Sarah J. Maas (4)

Throne of Glass Crown of Midnight Heir of Fire A Court of Thorns and Roses

Love this series and love this author! I can’t get over how good these fantasy novels are. Although it started out a bit rough, I can now say it’s one of my favorites of all time.

Throne of Glass & Crown of Midnight & Heir of Fire

A Court of Thorns and Roses

2. Morgan Rhodes (4)

Falling Kingdoms Rebel Spring Gathering Darkness A Book of Spirits and Thieves

The Queen has arrived! My all time favorite fantasy author Morgan Rhodes has put forth a masterpiece of stories. I am dying here waiting for her newest book to come out.

Falling Kingdoms & Rebel Spring & Gathering Darkness

A Book of Spirits and Thieves

1. Sara Sheperd (14)

Pretty Little Liars Flawless Perfect Unbelievable Wicked Killer Heartless Wanted Twisted Ruthless Stunning Burned Ali's Pretty Little Lies Pretty Little Secrets

Would you look at that. I haven’t even finished this series yet becuase it just won’t freaking end. If I knew what a commitment this was going to be when the first book came out, I probably would not have started it. It’s been a couple years since I read the last book and there has been 4 more published since then. Shoot me now. And let the judgement begin…

Pretty Little Liars & Flawless & Perfect & Unbelievable

Wicked & Killer & Heartless & Wanted

Twisted & Ruthless & Stunning & Burned

Ali’s Pretty Little Lies & Pretty Little Secrets
