A weekend retreat in the woods and an innocent game of three truths and a lie goes horribly wrong in this high-octane psychological thriller filled with romantic suspense by a Lambda Award–winning author.
Deep in the forest, four friends gather for a weekend of fun.
Truth #1: Rob is thrilled about the weekend trip. It’s the perfect time for him to break out of his shell…to be the person he really, really wants to be.
Truth #2: Liam, Rob’s boyfriend, is nothing short of perfect. He’s everything Rob could have wanted. They’re perfect together. Perfect.
Truth #3: Maia has been Liam’s best friend for years…long before Rob came along. They get each other in a way Rob could never, will never, understand.
Truth #4: Galen, Maia’s boyfriend, is sweet, handsome, and incredibly charming. He’s the definitely of a Golden Boy…even with the secrets up his sleeves.
One of these truths is a lie…and not everyone will live to find out which one it is.
In a land where three suns almost never set, a fledgling killer joins a school of assassins, seeking vengeance against the powers who destroyed her family.
Daughter of an executed traitor, Mia Corvere is barely able to escape her father’s failed rebellion with her life. Alone and friendless, she hides in a city built from the bones of a dead god, hunted by the Senate and her father’s former comrades. But her gift for speaking with the shadows leads her to the door of a retired killer, and a future she never imagined.
Now, Mia is apprenticed to the deadliest flock of assassins in the entire Republic—the Red Church. If she bests her fellow students in contests of steel, poison and the subtle arts, she’ll be inducted among the Blades of the Lady of Blessed Murder, and one step closer to the vengeance she desires. But a killer is loose within the Church’s halls, the bloody secrets of Mia’s past return to haunt her, and a plot to bring down the entire congregation is unfolding in the shadows she so loves.
Will she even survive to initiation, let alone have her revenge?
A Torch Against the Night takes readers into the heart of the Empire as Laia and Elias fight their way north to liberate Laia’s brother from the horrors of Kauf Prison. Hunted by Empire soldiers, manipulated by the Commandant, and haunted by their pasts, Laia and Elias must outfox their enemies and confront the treacherousness of their own hearts.
In the city of Serra, Helene Aquilla finds herself bound to the will of the Empire’s twisted new leader, Marcus. When her loyalty is questioned, Helene finds herself taking on a mission to prove herself—a mission that might destroy her, instead.

Until next time,
Hey guys!
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights highly anticipated upcoming releases.
So here’s what I’m waiting on this week!
Lia and Rafe have escaped Venda and the path before them is winding and dangerous – what will happen now? This third and final book in The Remnant Chronicles is not to be missed.
Bestselling author Mary E. Pearson’s combination of intrigue, suspense, romance and action make this a riveting page turner for teens.
The conclusion to a series that I am really interested in reading. Now that It’s coming out I can finally marathon the series since the events from the first book are a bit foggy in my brain right now!
What has you guys waiting this week? Let me know down below!
Until next time,
Hey guys!
I was tagged by Sara from Freadom Library to do The Alphabet Book Tag! Thanks for the tag Sara. And if you haven’t checked out her blog, please do me a favor and do that now! One of my favorite book bloggers!
The Rules:
Pick a book that is on your shelf or one that you have read in the past and fill out each letter of the Alphabet. The idea is to use books that you have either read or that are on your TBR list.
The books that are underlined are books that I have read and the rest are books that are on my TBR. I tried to pick books that I love and enjoyed that I haven’t talked about much on my blog or TBR books that I am dying to pick up soon.
SO let’s get started!
I have no clue….
Until next time,
Look it’s October. One of my favorite months of the year! Why you ask? Well it’s in the middle of my favorite season, Autumn. As well, it’s also the scariest time of the year. If you know me, then you know I love horror movies and scary stuff in general. Although none of the books on the this months TBR are scary, that does not mean I won’t be enjoying some scary books if I come across some! So without further ado, here are the five books that are on my October TBR!
All pictures link to their respective GoodReads page.
Hoping this month doesn’t fly by too quickly. I actually really want to get to every book on this list! Be sure to follow me on twitter to track my progress throughout the month: @BooksatDawn
Until next time,
Welcome back to another Top 10 Tuesday weekly fun on my blog! Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. If you want to join in the fun, hop on over to their blog to see what it’s all about!
This week’s topic is Top 10 Fantasy 101 Books. I racked my brain hard this week to come up with a 101 syllabus for this weeks topic. Try as hard as I might, I couldn’t come up with one that is creative, so I went with the generic one. Honeslty though, if they actually taught this one when I was in University, I most likely would have taken and aced it! Maybe not aced it, but I would have actually enjoyed attending it!
Here are some NEW and some OLD and I decided to use three words to sum up the story:
Well there you have it. The Top 10 Fantasy 101 Books. Let me know what you guys think of my list and share with me which authors are on your auto-buy list!
Until next time,
Guess who’s behind in the trends again? Oh right, that’s me! So I know we’re already passed this point in the year, but I thought who cares! There have been so many great reads so far that I thought I would let you guys know what they were. So sit back and relax because here we go!
Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli has been the best book I’ve read so far. I have never been so eager and excited to read a story like I was before I picked this guy up. I connected with Simon a lot and I couldn’t wait to see what happened to him next. From the beginning to the middle to the end I absolutely enjoyed every page!
Cress by Marissa Meyer has been the best sequel I have read so far this year. The Lunar Chronicles has been a bit on the shaky side for me. It started out pretty rough with the first book, it got better in the second, and then the third (Cress), just blew me away! I had so much fun reading it. It was very exciting and action packed with character developments, back stories, adventures and more!
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. This book has been hyped up so much that it kind of scares me to even read it. It started out as a stand alone but the success has launched it into a trilogy I believe. So I’m not in a big rush to read it now, but I know I will eventually get it probably this year or the beginning of 2016!
Frozen Tides by Morgan Rhodes. The Falling Kingdoms series is hands down my favorite of all time. It has everything I want in a story and more. So of course the fourth book in the series is the one I’m most anticipating for in the second half of the year. I’m dying to get my hands on a copy and fly back into the world of Mytica!
Althea and Oliver by Christina Moracho has been the biggest disappointment of the year so far. I was looking forward to this book for a very long time. When I finally got to read it, I hated almost every minute of it. The way the story turned was a huge disappointment and I have never been let down so hard by a book in my life.
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. I was looking forward to this book for a long time. It began getting so much hype and all the booktubers and book bloggers I like, trust and follow were hating it. Whether they were hating the story itself or the way the author presented herself on social media, I was getting a bad taste in my mouth. But never the less I like to form my own opinions on books and decided to read it months after its release and I quite enjoyed it! Going in with super low expectations and I left the book with the biggest surprise!
Fleur Camacho, the indie author of the TRISTEN fantasy series has become my new favorite author. I read her debut novel at the beginning of the year and I quite enjoyed it. We have stayed in contact since then and she graciously asks for my opinion on book covers and future plot lines. I’m absolutely grateful for her advice and friendship since then! You guys need to seriously go check out her book!
Tamlin from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. Who doesn’t fall in love with the Beast? Tamlin is rugged, brave, strong, loving, and sexy. He is a great leader and a great lover. He pays great attention to detail and is always there for Feyre when he’s not being held captive by the evil bitch Amarantha.
Marko from the Saga graphic novel series! Ever since reading the first volume I have been obsessed with Marko. He is so cute and lovable towards Alana and Hazel, but when there is danger to his family, he is ruthless and will do anything to protect them. Very honorable in my books!
So I reread The Fault in Our Stars by John Green after 3 years and it still had me balling my eyes out. Even though I knew what was coming, the water works just wouldn’t stop. I hate crying, so I love hate the books that make me do it! I’m not a pretty cryer.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by J.K Rowling. Yes I know I late on this. And yes because of the movies I already knew what was going to happen, but it never the less put a smile on my face while reading it. My only regret is not having read the books sooner! I still have a lot to catch up on in the Harry Potter world!
I would say Paper Towns by John Green, but I still have yet to see the movie. So I’ll just have to leave this one blank for now.
Red Rising by Pierce Brown has been my favorite review so far this year! I had a lot of fun reading the book and an even more enjoyable time writing the review for it! If you haven’t checked it out you can do so HERE to find out my I liked it so much!
By beautiful I’m hoping it means the cover? Because if so I would say The Last Changeling by Chelsea Pitcher! Just look at that glorious cover. The colors, the art and the light reflections are just beautiful!
More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera, Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, The Heart of Betrayal by Mary E. Pearson. All three of these books are burning holes in my TBR and need to be read ASAP!
Thanks for stopping by! Let me know if you’re freaking out about any of these books as well! I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for me and my blog!
Until next time,
