Anticipated September 2015 Releases

Hey guys!

Every month I post the books that I’m most excited about that are going to be released. For September I’m bringing you four exciting releases. Let’s check them out:

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas

Release Date: September 1st, 2015

Queen of ShadowsEveryone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she’s at last returned to the empire—for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past . . .

She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die just to see her again. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen’s triumphant return.

Celaena’s epic journey has captured the hearts and imaginations of millions across the globe. This fourth volume will hold readers rapt as Celaena’s story builds to a passionate, agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.

Silver Eve by Sandra Waugh

Release Date: September 22, 2015

Silver EveA Healer without home or purpose, seventeen-year-old Evie Carew has found the perfect place to disappear: Rood Marsh. She can easily fade into its vast wilderness of towering reeds; leave behind the growing violence that is claiming her innocent world. Leave behind the tragedy that broke her heart and sent her far from her grandmother, cousin Lark and all she once loved.

But Evie is not alone in the marsh. A seer, a Rider, and Breeders of Chaos all hunt her—for though opposed in objective, her seekers share knowledge she does not: Evie is one of the four Guardians of Tarnec, one who can help save the world from the coming destruction if she can reclaim the stolen amulet of Death. But whether she meets true love or a brutal end on such a journey is a matter of who finds her first.

Zeroes by Scott Westerfeld

Release Date: September 24, 2015

ZeroesEthan, aka “Scam,” has a way with words. When he opens his mouth, whatever he wants you to hear comes out. But Ethan isn’t just a smooth talker. He has a unique ability to say things he doesn’t consciously even know. Sometimes the voice helps, but sometimes it hurts – like now, when the voice has lied and has landed Ethan in a massive mess. So now Ethan needs help. And he needs to go to the last people who would ever want to help him – his former group of friends, the self-named “zeros” who also all possess similarly double-edged abilities, and who are all angry at Ethan for their own respective reasons. Brought back together by Scam’s latest mischief, they find themselves entangled in an epic, whirlwind adventure packed with as much interpersonal drama as mind-bending action.

Story Maps | Top 5 Wednesday [#5]

Welcome back to another Top 5 Wednesday! This fun weekly meme was created by Lainey over at GingerReadsLainey. If you want to join in the fun and be apart of the #T5W … you can find all the details at the GoodReads page.

This week’s topic is Top 5 Story Maps.

A good fantasy always has an epic map to help you along the journey of reading! I can attest to getting lost numerous times reading some great YA fantasy books and if it wasn’t for the maps at the front of the novel I would cry. Literally.

So let’s jump right in!

5. Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch

Map5 Snow like ashesI love this map for a lot of different reasons. One of the major ones is how it gets split up into different seasons. It was one of my favorite parts of the story too. I can’t wait to get to explore the rest of the map in book 2 coming out this fall!

4. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Map4 Throne of GlassBy golly does this series ever travel through this great map. I would honestly be lost without it. Even now I still can never figure out where all the places are located! Such a grand landscape.

3. The Young Elites by Marie Lu

Map3 The Young ElitesThis map is vastly covered with water. I hope this means that there will be a lot of boat traveling to come! I’m in the mood for some pirate action.

2. Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson

Map2 Kiss of DeceptionLook at the details in this one! Absolutely stunning. I can’t take my eyes off of how pretty it looks. Makes me wish I was apart of this world!

1. Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

Map1 Shadow and BoneI honestly can not wait to get into this read because of the map! It looks like there is a tear in the middle of it. So cool!

Well there you have it! I hope you enjoyed my Top 5 Wednesday this week. If only I could live in these worlds! So much more exciting then the one I live!

Hyped Books I’ve Never Read | Top 10 Tuesdays

Top10TuesdayHey guys!

I’ve decided to join the Top 10 Tuesday Weekly fun on my blog because why the hell not? Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. If you want to join in the fun, hop on over to their blog to see what it’s all about!

This weeks topic is the Top 10 Hyped Books I’ve Never Read. I had a teeny bit of trouble gathering ten books for this list because I am always reading the hyped up books when they come out. I just can’t help it. I mean what’s the point of all the hype if the book isn’t any good? So the books I put on this list are the hyped books I have yet to read, because lets face it, I’m going to read them sooner or later!

10) The Maze Runner by James Dashner

The Maze RunnerI’ve seen the movie and I’ve been slacking on picking up this book. Maybe 2015 will be the year I do it!

9) I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson

I'll Give You the SunThis has been recommended to me from several different people. It has won awards. The plot sounds like a book I would love. All this awesomeness and I have yet to read it.

8) Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

Clockwork AngelI am slowly but surely getting through The Mortal Instruments series so I can finally start the prequel to it all. I’m only several years behind the hype.

7) Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

FangirlNaturally after reading Eleanor and Park I wanted to immediately start Fangirl… but…but…yeah. I still haven’t read it.

6) The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson

The Final EmpireBooktube exploded with this book and has literally hyped this book up so much that I want to go as far as to purchase the UK covers. Come on, just look at the beauty of them!

5) A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin

A Game of ThronesYes this book is huge and wordy. And yes I will eventually read it. I just have to grow some balls first.

4) The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

The Raven BoysI am finally going to cave and read this book. I purchased it and it’s close up on the TBR list. Look out for it soon!

3) Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

Shadow and BoneSame goes for this glory! After seeing the hype for Six of Crows, a story held in the same world as this one, I will naturally have to read this one first!

2) Red Rising by Pierce Brown

Red RisingThis freaking book has been taunting me on my TBR list for so goddamn long. I’ve already started it but have since put it down. Not because its not interesting or good, I’m just weird like that.

1) An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

An Ember in the AshesOk, this book. Do I even have to say anything? It was so good that it went from being a standalone book to a freaking series. It’s so hyped I don’t even know what to do with it! Duh, I will read it.

Well there you have it. The Top Ten Hyped Books I’ve Never Read. Let me know what you guys think of my list and share with me what are some of your hyped books you have yet to read.

See ya next time,

Jesse Nicholas
