  • Nominate 7 other bloggers.
  • Create 7 questions for your nominees

What is your 2015 favorite read so far ?

Queen of ShadowsEnough said. 5 Stars.

Which book deserves more hype in your opinion ?

Lark RisingI feel like not many people are reading this AMAZING series. The second book just came out and deserves way more hype! I feel like the publisher is not doing a very good job.

What is the most original book you read ?

Everything, EverythingEverything about this book is original. From the disease, to the characters, to the way the story was written. One of my favorites of the year!

Which book would you want to see on screen (TV or movie) ?

Falling KingdomsHands down the ONLY series I want to see on TV (not movie) is the Falling Kingdoms series by Morgan Rhodes. It would make such great TV. If you’ve read this book then you already know!

Book boyfriend/girlfriend ?

Saga Vol.2I went in a different direction this time. I choose Marko from the Saga graphic novel to be my book boyfriend. He is absolutely perfect and knows how to treat his loved ones!

What is your favorite manga ?

Sailor Moon Vol.1 Death Note Vol.1

It’s a tie between these two. For different reasons both are my all time favorite mangas EVER!

Tell me one thing about you.

Only one? Well I have never been in love before. I know what love feels like from friends and family, but I have never loved someone so deeply to want to be with them for life. I’ve had many relationships in the past but none have ever evoked the strongest emotion of love.

I wonder if I will ever get the chance to experience it. I think the problem lies within myself and it is something I have to work through before I can share my life with someone.

Kinda sappy right? Sorry… sometimes I just want to be real with you guys. My life isn’t just filled with books!

My Questions

You’ve committed a crime and are going to jail for life. The judge allows you to bring three books with you and those are the only three books you’ll be reading for the rest of your life. Which three are they?

You’ve been in a relationship with your man/women and things are getting serious, but out of the blue they ask you to choose them or your books. Which do you choose and why?

You’re being held at gun point but the shooter says he will set you free if you burn three of your books. Which three would you choose?

There is a new law coming into effect. It bans (insert genre here) genre from ever being read/written again. Which genre would you choose?

With wanting more diversity in books nowadays, what is one aspect you believe should be represented more and why?

Your favorite author is going to call you for a once in a lifetime chance to talk. You can only ask them one question. Who is the author and what is the question? Why?

Hero, Assassin, or Prince/Princess? You can only pick one. Which do you choose to be in a story with you as the main character?

I hope you enjoyed my answers to these lovely questions. And if you have seen my questions before, you are right! I have used them in the past because they are such good questions that I want all my followers the chance to answer. That’s why I tag new people every time I ask them!

Until next time,

Sig New

I TAG YOU!

Saga-Vol-2-Review

*** SPOILER ALERT ***

**As this is the second volume of the Saga graphic novel some plotlines may spoil what’s happened in the first volume**

*YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED*

Saga, Volume 2 by Brian K. Vaughan and art by Fiona Staples is a collection of issues 7-12 of the Saga comic book. It continues on with Alana and Marko as Marko’s parents infiltrate their space ship and cause a ruckus. Meanwhile on the other side of the universe the bounty hunters are still in search for the runaway fugitives while dealing with their own problems at hand.

Let’s go in depth and see what happens.

Saga-vol-2-plot-+-wriitngThe second volume picks up right after the events that concluded the first volume. We get to meet little baby Hazel’s grandparents this time around. They are less then thrilled about the circumstances of cross species breeding but soon come to love Hazel just like everyone else. This time around we get to see into the past lives of our favorite characters, their childhood, and how they met and fell in love.

We also get some added action with the assassin’s, as well as meeting some new and exciting characters. Volume 2 takes the Saga story and hurtles it to a new level of awesome! It as nice to see the origins of Marko, the relationship he has with his parents and how he came to be a prisoner of Alana’s people.

It was also very touching to see how Alana interacted with Marko’s father and that story line really broke my heart to read. Vaughan takes his writing and perfects it with seamless stories and major character developments while Staples brings it to life with her art. She truly know how to capture raw human emotions and is able to draw it out on paper.

Saga-vol-2-charactersThis time around we get to see major character developments of Marko and Alana, especially getting an insight into their pasts. But we are also introduced to a couple new characters as well.

Marko’s parents, Klara and Barr were a great addition to the story line. They bring with them the wisdom of parenthood and the sass of being in laws to Alana. Right then and there I was hooked. As volume two went on we get more of a heartbreaking story, and one that really touches your heart.

We also get to meet Marko’s ex-fiance Gwendolyn. She is fiesty with her attitude and is out for a vengeance. She meets up with The Will, the assassin set out to kill Alana and Marko from the first volume and helps him save a slave girl from Sextillion before embarking on the original task at hand. She really just wants her rings back and deal out some punishment for Marko leaving her!

Saga-vol-2-settingThe majority of the story takes place on the space tree that they use as a spaceship while we also get glimpses of other planets as well. One in particular that stuck out to me was the one Marko and his mother Klara visit to retrieve Hazel’s ghostly babysitter. This planet or shall I say egg fetus, houses the ugliest most vile giant creature I have ever seen. It was so disturbing to look at and I loved every moment of it! That whole planet was brilliantly drawn and creatively come up with on both Vaughan and Staple’s side.

We also get to head back to my favorite place from volume 1! None other then the planet of Sextillion. I really have not much else to say about that place. The giant head, little legged prostitutes still give me nightmares!

Saga-Vol-2.-In-ConclusionIn conclusion I have nothing negative to say about Saga, Volume 2. by Brian K. Vaughan and art by Fiona Staples. I adore this graphic novel and the stories it tells. I can’t wait to get my hand on volume 3 and see what happens to my favorite characters next!

If you have read Saga, Volume 2. let me know what you thought. Did you like the addition of Marko’s parents? How do you think the story is unfolding? Do you like Gwendolyn? Yay or nay? Tell me below!

Until next time,

Sig New

Fortunately, a mysterious new building in Riverdale is offering some career opportunities for Archie and his friends. Who’s behind this new conglomerate and what are their intentions for Riverdale?

Betty looks freaking good on the cover and in her new art! Your all American girl next door as she was labelled way back when. I also love the cover of Archie, Jughead and Betty just jamming out on the school bench! And the last cover where Archie is getting a caricature of himself in the classic art work. So cool.

And as you all know, Harley Quinn is my favorite super villain of all time! So with the third issue coming out of her new series where she partners up with Power Girl and tries to become a super hero, you know I had to have it! I can’t wait to see what shenanigans she gets herself into this time!
