Fall T.V. Time | Top 10 Tuesday

Welcome back to another Top 10 Tuesday weekly fun on my blog! Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. If you want to join in the fun, hop on over to their blog to see what it’s all about!

This week’s topic is Fall T.V. Time.

T.V. is just as important to me as books are guys. I’m being serious. I spend a lot of my free time catching up on shows. I even cut into my reading time to do it too. I know shame, shame, shame, on me. So I thought I would take my own twist on this weeks topic. Not only will I give you a Top 10 of new shows I’m looking forward to, but also a Top 10 of shows I can’t wait for them to come back. So let’s not waste anymore time, let’s get started!

New Shows

10. Kevin Can Wait

Kevin James plays a newly retired police officer living in Massapequa, New York. During his retirement, he looks forward to spending more time at home with his wife and three kids. However, he soon discovers that the challenges he faces at home with his family are much tougher than what he had faced on the job.

9. Still Star-Crossed

Still Star-Crossed is sequel for William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. It follows Rosaline (played by Lashana Lynch) who is Juliet’s cousin in 16th century Verona, and who once rejected Romeo as a suitor. She and Benvolio of Montague are betrothed against their will by Prince Escalus, in order to end the feud between the two families. Both resolve to find a way to end the violence without having the union.

8. The Exorcist

Currently there is not synopsis for the show, but it’s based off of the movie. So yeah.. gonna be scary as shit! I hope.

7. Midnight, Texas

The series is based on the book series of the same name by author Charlaine Harris, who also created the books True Blood is based on.

Think supernatural and paranormal genres.

6. APB

A tech-billionaire is given control over a Chicago Police district, hoping to close the file of a murder of a loved one. The story is loosely based on the New York Times-article “Who Runs the Streets of New Orleans?”

5. Emerald City

Emerald City is an upcoming American fantasy television series based on the Land of Oz book series written by L. Frank Baum.

4. The Great Indoors

Jack has made a name for himself as an adventure reporter for the magazine Outdoor Limits. His days of exploring the world end when the magazine’s founder, Roland, announces its move to web-only publishing and assigns Jack to supervise the millennials who make up its online team of so-called journalists.

3. Powerless

“Powerless “is a workplace comedy set at one of the worst insurance companies in America — with the twist being that it also takes place in the universe of DC Comics. The show is about the reality of working life for a normal, powerless person in a world of superheroes and villains.

2. Chicago Justice

Chicago Justice follows the State’s Attorney’s team of prosecutors and investigators as they navigate their way through Chicago area politics, the legal arena, and media coverage while pursuing justice.

1. Riverdale

Riverdale is an upcoming American teen drama television series based on the characters by Archie Comics.

Returning Shows

10. Fresh Off the Boat

 

Guys if you haven’t tuned into this comedy then you are seriously missing out. One of the first, if not the first all Asian American comedy on T.V. That’s pretty awesome. The mom is gut wrenching hilarious. I can’t get enough.

9. Scream Queens

 

Ok, this show is totally trash… but trash that you just can’t seem to throw away. I don’t know what it is about this show that keeps me coming back and devouring it some more, I really don’t. But it’s working, so I will give them that.

8. Chicago Med

 

Chicago Med is part of a trio (soon to be quartet) of dramas based in the city of Chicago. Obviously. This one is the medical portion. It aired it’s first season last year and I couldn’t get enough. The story-lines are always on point!

7. Chicago P.D.

 

Next up in Chicago is, Chicago P.D. This one deals with the police department. This one takes no prisoners with it’s story-lines. From rape cases, to murders, huge drug deals, to police brutality. I look forward to it every week!

6. Chicago Fire

 

Last up is the one that started it all, Chicago Fire. As you can probably guess, this one is about the fire department. It’s heading into it’s fifth season now and there is no stopping it. From high stakes fires, to in house drama and hook-ups, to women’s rights to be firefighters. Everything about this huge series is amazing. Did I mention that they do cross overs and 3 part stories on all the Chicago platforms?

5. Supergirl

 

Just like the Chicago shows, here comes my obsession with superhero shows. Up first is Supergirl. New to the CW this season, I can’t wait to see how they change up the show and characters for the new network. I hope it doesn’t change too much though. I loved the first season.

4. Arrow

 

Here we have the original superhero show that started this new craze. Arrow is heading into it’s fifth season and digging back into it’s original roots. No more magic and super powers, but real life crime and vigilantes. I can’t wait to see what happens next, especially after how last season ended!

3. The Flash

 

My favorite of the superhero shows, The Flash. I think it’s mostly because of the cute Grant Gustin. He portays Barry Allen perfectly, and I love all the meta-human madness this show has to offer. This season is going to shake up everything we know about The Flasg and I can’t wait!

2. How to Get Away with Murder

 

Who doesn’t love this delicious crime drama. If you’re not watching this show, then you haven’t lived. Viola Davis is such an amazing actress, and there is a pretty diverse cast of characters too. A+ for that.

1. Teen Wolf

 

This makes me so sad guys. This will be the final season of Teen Wolf, and that makes me want to cry! This show is my guilty pleasure and I can’t believe it’s coming to an end. I really hope the writers do this finale justice. I don’t want to be disappointed.
