I Need a Sequel! | Top 5 Wednesday [#29]

Hey guys!

Welcome back to another Top 5 Wednesday! This fun weekly meme was created by Lainey over at GingerReadsLainey. If you want to join in the fun and be apart of the #T5W … you can find all the details at the GoodReads page.

This week’s topic is Top 5 Books You Wish Had a Sequel.

I read a lot of books that are in the fantasy / sci-fi genre. Typically that means there is usually a sequel to them. So this week was a bit of a hard choice. I had to find the contemporaries that I loved enough to warrant a sequel. But I did it, and I would be forever a happy guy if they did get sequels! Some of you will notice some of these books, because I talk about them the most. So it should come as no surprise I chose them!

5. Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda

I am aware of the upcoming spin-off The Upside of Unrequited, BUT it doesn’t follow my beloved Simon. I want to see the relationship blossom more with him and Blue. The ups and the downs! I need to see the cuteness overload!!

4. The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley by Shaun David Hutchinson

The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley

The ending was bitter sweet. I know there is more to Andrew’s story, so much so that I wish there was a sequel. He has a lot he needs to overcome still, and that would make for a great story!

3. The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner

The Serpent King

The gang is going off to college now. That’s a whole different ball game. Something Dill never thought he could achieve. I want to see more of them!

2. More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera

More Happy Than Not

The ending broke me… I am very curious to see how Aaron will navigate his life after the events at the end. My curiosity levels are high with this one!

1. We Are the Ants by Shaun David Hutchinson

We Are the Ants

I was left wanting more from the ending. Don’t get me wrong, it was amazing and there is nothing I would change. But there is more story to be told. Especially what happens after January 29, 2016. I feel like that is very pivotal to the story!!

I hope you enjoyed my Top 5 Wednesday this week. What books do you wish had a sequel?

Until next time,

Sig New

  1. I haven’t read any of these, but I’ve heard great things about all of them… I definitely need to check them out!
If I had to pick a book to have a sequel, I would probably say When We Collided by Emery Lord. I think it would be really interesting to know where Vivi and Jonah end up in a few years.

  2. I would love to check in with Aaron again. We left on a hopeful note with him but I want to know how he’s really doing, especially with the whole memory thing which was such a devastating reveal.
