10 Bookish Facts About Me | Top 10 Tuesday [#38]

Hey guys!

Welcome back to another Top 10 Tuesday weekly fun on my blog! Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. If you want to join in the fun, hop on over to their blog to see what it’s all about!

This week’s topic is Top 10 Bookish Facts About Me.

I used to do a lot of facts about me in my older posts, and it’s been quite a long time since I have. You guys might have even forgotten them along the way. So I am here to refresh your memory. Exciting stuff right?

For those of you who do not know, my favorite genres to read are Fantasy and Sci-fi. But it’s not exclusive to just those genres. I also like Thrillers, Mysteries, and the occasional Contemporary.

Back in high school, Twilight was the book that ignited my love for reading again. I didn’t read much past the 6th grade. That is until the Twilight hype came around. I have not looked back since. (And I probably wouldn’t read Twilight again… it was amazing at the time).

When I am commuting to and from work, which is most of the time, my preferred method of reading is in the e-book format. It’s much easier to handle, and less to lug around in my bag. But I do love grabbing my physical books when I’m lounging at home though!

If there is a book that I am absolutely in love with, then I will most likely have multiple copies of it. For example, the Falling Kingdoms series by Morgan Rhodes, I have all the books that are currently released in both the hardcover and the paperbacks. The reason is because I don’t want to crack open my hardcovers anymore. Plus they’re all signed!

My pool of favorite authors has increased quite a bit. In addition to Morgan Rhodes, I have included Pierce Brown, Leigh Bardugo, Marie Lu, Adam Silvera, and Shaun David Hutchinson. I will auto buy whatever these authors put out!

I tend to disagree with the majority of popular opinions that plague the book community. I feel it makes me unique. Please don’t hate me for it!

I am a bookmark hoarder. I have so many bookmarks that I always have trouble choosing which ones I want to use. I think I have close to 100 bookmarks and growing.

I love me some hardcovers. They look and feel prettier then paperbacks. For that reason, hardcovers are my preferred format when buying books at the bookstore. Even though they cost 2x more then paperbacks.

I am a slow reader. Ever since joining the book community and seeing how much other bloggers can read a month puts me to shame. I have come to terms with it though. I like taking my time and absorbing as much of the story as I can. This isn’t a competition anymore!

I am a huge book polygamist. I can never read just one book at a time. I currently have 3 books going. And I have no intentions of stopping anytime soon!

Well there you have it! Top 10 Bookish Facts About Me. Do we share any similarities? I’d love to hear them! Let me know!

Until next time,

Sig New

  1. I can’t read more than one book at a time! I always get the stories confused and then it plagues my dreams and it just isn’t worth it! Twilight introduced me to young adult, but when I look back on it now, I think to myself how bad it is in comparison to other YA books! Although I have two copies of the first book (one in German and one in English) and I also have two copies of the last book because I bought one for myself and received another as a gift – as well as the other books and accompanying novellas!! 😂😂

  2. I read Twilight when I was in sixth grade and I absolutely loved it. Honestly, I didn’t think it was that bad until all the bad hype surrounding the movies suddenly exploded. I think it gets a worse reputation than it deserves. There are plenty of books that are worse that no one talks about!

  3. I love how easy and convenient ebooks are. It’s nice being able to carry around a ton of books with you on one small device. I do love my physical books too though! So jealous of all your signed Falling Kingdoms books! I love that series so much. I listened to them in audiobook, so I need to buy the physical books now and reread them all again! 😛 I am also a bookmark hoarder. I have a bag that is stuffed full of them and I don’t think it can hold anymore, lol.

  4. I could never read one book at a time. To start, I’d feel like I’m cheating on the book I’m currently reading but I’d also get confused with all the happenings in the different books haha.
I did read Twilight when I was younger but after finishing the series I didn’t read again for a few years because the only reason I read Twilight in the first place was because all my friends had and kept encouraging me to read them.

  5. For a second I thought you were going to tell us you only date three or more people at a time! 😉 JK! I like to read one at a time, but sometimes I do have a hardback and an e-book going. It was really nice learning more about you. 🙂
