Hey guys!
Welcome back to another Top 10 Tuesday weekly fun on my blog! Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. If you want to join in the fun, hop on over to their blog to see what it’s all about!
This week’s topic is Top 10 Books I Enjoyed Out of my Comfort Zone.
I am a huge fantasy/sci-fi reader so the most out of my comfort zone would have to be contemporary young adult. Last year, I decided to try my hand more in that genre and now I can say I have a good amount of books that I enjoyed!
10. Seven Ways We Lie by Riley Redgate
9. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
8. The Last Time We Say Goodbye by Cynthia Hand
7. More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera
6. The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner
5. Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
4. My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga
3. All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
2. The Five Stages of Andrew Brawley by Shaun David Hutchinson
1. Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
Well there you have it! Top 10 Books I Enjoyed Out of my Comfort Zone. Do you agree with my choices? What books are out of your comfort zone?
Until next time,
I so agree with Seven Ways We Lie! That book surprised me, I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. The same applies for Simon, it’s impossible not to love. I have yet to read some of the other books you listed, but I got my eye on The Serpent King, All the Bright Places, My Heart and Other Black Holes, and More Happy Than Not. 🙂 So many good books in this list!

I also mostly read fantasy, but have enjoyed some of the books in your list. I want to read More Happy than Not and My Heart and Other Black Holes hopefully soon.

Considering I’m a crier and this warning came from a guy who never cried over a book, I take it very seriously. xD

I HAVE to get out of my comfort zone because alllll of these book have been on my TBR for ages, okay not ALL, like half. The others I’m totally adding NOW though.
I know that it’s soooo good for me to expand horizons, and as a writer it’s important to read outside of my genre. Thanks for these recs!!
Oh, wait! I have an idea! *gets super excited* If you had to pick ONE for me to read right THIS SECOND, which would you pick? Quick! Lol ^.^

OMG!! Okay, def a huge “no” to “I wanna cry”, I’m already crying like every 5 seconds as it is and I have zero idea why, lol. I’m like in a really weird place right now and going through a rough time, sorry tmi. Anyway, with that being said, SIMON it is!!! ^.^
Muchas gracias! 😀

Awwww!!!! *basically almost starts crying….again…* Thanks Jesse, that really means so much to me. It’s been rough and I am feeling a little better, still down. I actually started writing out my feels yesterday and sorta came to a feeling of peace, not resolution or anything, just like, “hey, I’m feeling blue, and it’s okay and I’ll overcome this and be stronger for it.” So thank you, your support, it means a lot. Really. *hugs*

Yes! Hugs for you. Sadness is a good emotion to feel. Have you ever seen Inside Out?

This is a great list! The ones I’ve read, I loved. And the ones I haven’t read, I want to! 🙂 Next, we’ll get you branching out into New Adult books! 😉

If I do branch out… it won’t be for romance NA… maybe paranormal NA? 😛

The majority of these books have been sitting on my tbr list for so long now. I need to start reading them just so I can tick them off the list haha. Seven Ways We Lie sounds very interesting and it’s not one I’ve come across until today so thank you for sticking it on my radar. 🙂

I’m excited for More Happy Than Not! I’m scared I might compare it to Simon Vs though and find it lacking. I hope not! 🙂

PS I’m not sure if your new banner (which reminds me of Carry On for some reasons) has been there for a long while now but it’s awesome!!

You won’t though. MHTN will break your heart in ways you didn’t know were possible. SVTHSA is light and fluffy, MHTN is dark and emotional. 😛
