I’ve Been Spoiled | Top 5 Wednesday [23]

Hey guys!

Welcome back to another Top 5 Wednesday! This fun weekly meme was created by Lainey over at GingerReadsLainey. If you want to join in the fun and be apart of the #T5W … you can find all the details at the GoodReads page.

This week’s topic is Top 5 Books I Was Spoiled For.

It’s hard being in the book blogging community/twitterverse and not get spoiled once in a while. Especially since spoilers can sometimes unintentionally just slip out. The books I am about to list are a few years old, so therefore I don’t feel super bad about it.

5. The Fault in Our Stars

The Fault in Our Stars

Even though I knew this certain character was going to die because spoiler alert THEY HAVE CANCER. I still got hit in the heart with all the feels. (I even almost cried)

4. The Mortal Instruments

Yeah I know who the bad guy is and it doesn’t bother me one bit. Am I shocked? Not really. Is it going to make me read these books faster? No…

3. Champion

Yeah I was told he loses him memory in the end and all that romance that they built together becomes a forgotten past. But it was still a nice ending regardless.

2. Harry Potter

I technically spoiled this one on my own by watching the movies before actually reading any of the books. So I know what the major plot points are… but it’s still nice to see all the details that were forgotten now that I am reading them for the first time!

1. Allegiant

This is probably the major one that was spoiled. And everyone I know hates the ending. I thought it was pretty cool that the author decided to kill a main character… but to switch POV’s in the end was a mess!

I hope you enjoyed my Top 5 Wednesday this week. So if you read any of these and are now spoiled, I am NOT sorry. I warned you guys! Let know what books were spoiled for you in the comments!

Until next time,

Sig New

  1. I feel bad for people who haven’t read HP but want to because many HP fans, me included, talked about major spoilers like it’s a common knowledge. :p
I’m actually pretty good at avoiding spoilers. Except for that one time I flipped to the end of the book to see how many pages left and my eyes caught something they shouldn’t…
Totally in the minority here, but I actually like what Roth did on Allegiant. I understand why people got so mad though.

  2. I was spoiled for harry potter 7- on the day it came out- while I was reading it- my brother flipped to the end and read bits from the epilogue. I kind of spoiled Mortal Instruments for myself- cos at the end of the first book I couldn’t have read on if Clary and Jace were actually siblings- I mean, eww.

      1. it definitely did. But I couldn’t read on without actually knowing either way. I didn’t know that, but because I knew jace wasn’t really her brother I guessed straight away. So me looking that spoiler up had a bit of a ripple affect for other spoilers :/

  3. Having a decent book spoiled for you is just the worst (on a par with your favourite TV show) – I seriously feel for you about Allegiant. If I had had that major a bomb-shell dropped on me after investing so much passion and time into the series, I would have been so upset *weeps for eternity*. Thanks for sharing these instances!

  4. I was spoiled for Allegiant, but I get more cross about tv show spoilers than book ones because I’m good at not getting spoiled for books.

      1. If the show has a ton of seasons – like Supernatural – and you’re given a spoiler for like five seasons away, I don’t really mind since I’ll probably forget.

  5. I was really annoyed that the last book of The Mortal Instruments spoiled me for The Infernal Devices series. I always heard The Infernal Devices was way better and wanted to read them, but after I finished TMI, I just felt like it was a waste of time.
