The Wine Book Tag | Book at Dawn

Hey guys!

I was tagged by Orangutan from The Orang-utan Librarian. If you haven’t already, go check out their blog. Now, as a disclaimer, I do not like nor drink wine. It is not my alcoholic beverage of choice and therefore I do not know what the different types taste like. But thanks to the handy dandy descriptions I think I got them down.

So without further a do, here is the tag!

Box Wine – a book that people will judge you for liking but you like it anyway!

Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars by Sara Shepard

I don’t care what anyone has to say I was addicted to this series in high school and still watch the show. It’s my guilty pleasure ok?

Organic Wine – a book that doesn’t have any added crap in it and is just written perfectly.

The Serpent King

The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner

This book was everything need in a contemporary. It was real, heart breaking and heart warming. It pulls you in with no added bullshit that makes contemporaries boring for me. A+

Gluehwein – a really spicy, wintry read.

Six of Crows

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

This book is spicy that I need to fan myself while reading because it was so hot and epic! There is so much action, and major character developments. Even though they are misfit criminals you can’t but fall for them all!

Sauvignon Blanc – a really sharp and aggressive read that you couldn’t put down!

The Young Elites

The Young Elites by Marie Lu

This book is something else entirely! Who doesn’t love a good anti-hero story once in a while. It’s so dark and aggressive that you can’t help but read it through to the end!

Pinot Noir – a book you didn’t expect much from but ended up getting blown away!

The Demon King

The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima

All I was expecting from this book was high fantasy coolness. I didn’t expect to fall head over heels for it. I’m itching to start the sequel ASAP!

Chardonnay – a good summer read that was super-zesty?

A Court of Thorns and Roses

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

Perfect for the summer. And super zesty and steamy. I wasn’t sure I was even reading a young adult themed book. I had to put the book down at times because it was getting too hot to handle!

Rose – a book that has a little bit of everything in it.

More Happy Than Not

More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera

This book makes you laugh, cry, smile, and scream in agony. Everything about this book is amazing!

Shiraz – A full-bodied book that is dark and juicy

Red Rising

Red Rising by Pierce Brown

This book is so dark and gripping. Half the time I had no idea what was going on. It was so hard to follow but I just couldn’t put it down. It was that juicy!

Merlot – a smooth easy read with a soft finish.

Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda

Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda

Smooth, cute, adorable, and easy to read. It will have you smiling all the way through with it’s adorableness!

Champagne – Your Favourite Book

Falling Kingdoms by Morgan RhodesFalling Kingdoms

You can’t honestly be surprised with this answer if you are an avid reader of my blog. So therefore I will only say this book and series is so damn good, that everyone needs to read it!

Well there you have it! I think I did really well pairing the wine with the perfect book. I should thing about becoming a sommelier! What do you think?

Until next time,

Sig 2

  1. I started to watch the Pretty Little Liars TV show. I am going to California in March and I was told that I have to watch every single episode before I get there, lol.
Perfect choice for Merlot. Simon vs. is definitely cute and easy to read. I flew through it and my face hurt from smiling so much, lol. I agree with you on ACOTAR!
All of the other books you chose for your responses are books that I am dying to get my hands on and read!
Thank you for tagging me! This looks like a lot of fun! 🙂

  2. Can’t go wrong with a good glass (or bottle) of Rose. I feel like I’m going to have to have a glass when I write this post haha. Now, The Serpent King has me intrigued. I’ve seen it floating about the blogosphere and the general reactions have been positive. I love a good coming of age story so I’ll definitely be picking up this book. 😀

  3. Glad you did this! I love your answers- I especially love what you said about Young Elites- cos I completely agree! Don’t you love how dark and twisted Adelina is getting? Also have you read the second one? I really enjoyed that too! I absolutely love Falling Kingdoms and have just bought the 3rd one- I love that series cos it’s just one of those pure fantasies that does everything you want it to! I’ve also been meaning to read Court of Thorns and Roses, Red Rising, Demon King and Six of Crows- I’ve got a lot of catching up to do! (Also I’ve not read the books for pll, but I was obsessed with the show for ages- I hated how that ended last season and finally gave it up- are the books better?)

  4. Thanks for tagging me Jesse. I’m super unclassy and don’t drink wine either. I have no idea what half of these are… Haha when I go to work parties, the waiters walking around are like “can I top up your drink? What’s in this glass?”. Which always makes me feel stupid because I have no idea what I’m drinking.
