Hey guys!
Welcome back to another Top 5 Wednesday! This fun weekly meme was created by Lainey over at GingerReadsLainey. If you want to join in the fun and be apart of the #T5W … you can find all the details at the GoodReads page.
This week’s topic is Top 5 Disappointing Eye Candy.
Disappointing eye candy is a book with a gorgeous captivating cover, but a lack luster story. I know I have fallen prey to judging a book by its cover.
“Ooh! Look at the pretty cover. I must have it!”
-Later On-
“This story was…. meh.”
So let’s take a look at the disappointing eye candies of 2015!
5. The Memory Key by Liana Liu
Loved the color concept with the title and the computer circuit patterns in the background. The story on the other hand was boring and slow paced. Unique concept though!
4. The Ungoverned by Jaq C. Reed
This was a great cover! Pretty landscape color choices, the cool DNA symbols on the ground and the main character watching on from the distance. The story on the other hand was long and all over the place. Could use some more drafting and edits.
3. Althea & Oliver by Cristina Moracho
Loved the yellow and the two things that symbolized the main characters. The story was horrible and the main character Althea was disgusting.
2. Hunter by Mercedes Lackey
Pretty cover! Love dragons and other wordly creatures. But I couldn’t even finish the book. It was written with way too much information and very little story.
1. The Last Changeling by Chelsea Pitcher
The colors, the lighting, the pretty backdrop! Everything about this cover is 100% perfect. The story on the other hand was a bit boring and at times mediocre and unoriginal.
I hope you enjoyed my Top 5 Wednesday this week. What books do think are disappointing eye candy? Let me know!
Until next time,
I’ve never read any of these! For me, I always judge books by the cover. I know it’s a terrible thing to do x__x

The only author I know in your top 5 is Mercedes Lackey. I own 3 of her series (in french) and I really enjoyed them ☺ too bad you didn’t like that one
