Encouraging Thunder Award | Books at Dawn

Hey guys!

I was nominated by Alyssa from Alyssa is Reading. Thanks girl! If you haven’t checked out her blog then you’re seriously missing out. So do yourself a favor and hop on over there.

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Post the Encouraging Thunder logo.
  • Mention your purpose in blogging.
  • Nominate others for the award.

I started this blog as a mere hobby back in January of 2015 on Blogspot. I was always interested in books and thought this would be a great time filler instead of wasting it all on YouTube videos or TV shows. (I still watch a lot of TV though).

But ever since interacting with other bloggers, switching blogging platforms it really started to grow on me. I found a place where I fit in and belong. None of my friends read as much as I do so I never had many people to talk to about books. Now I have thousands.

This blog has made me grow as a writer, reader, and content provider. I feel like this is one way to leave a legacy and name for myself. Although I’m still learning and growing I know this blog is going places and I can’t wait to travel on this journey with my fellow blogger friends!

But the most important reason why I blog would have to be because it makes me happy. I am always searching for things that make me happy and I believe I have found one.

  1. Congratulations, and well done in finding a place that has helped you with writing and such. My family and friends are half and half with the reading. And now with my young teen boy cousins who liked reading, it’s now gaming more for them.

  2. Congrats and thanks for the nomination ! Nice answer ! and I totally agree, it’s really nice to have fellow booklovers to talk to. Thanks to Instagram I “met” some amazing people that are now my friends. I also “met” some amazing people here, of course. And hopefully I’ll be able to call some of them friends soon 😉 But I digress haha !

  3. You totally deserve this award! You’ve got such great quality posts. I agree with everything you said. It’s amazing how blogging can connect us all 😀

  4. I am so glad that you switched platforms and was able to become friends with you on here! 😀 I totally understand about not many of your friends really reading as much. Same with me. I only had my sister to talk about books, which was nice, but would have been so much better to have tons of friends like I do now with the blog! 🙂 I am really looking forward to seeing what else you have in store for your blog this year! Thanks for nominating me!

  5. Interesting story! Why did you switch from blogger to wordpress? I honestly don’t know enough difference between the two. I just noticed more bloggers from Goodreads use wordpress and hence, here I am! And I’m glad I did because I met you and many other blogging friends 😀
