Villain Squad | TAG

Hey guys!

I was tagged by Joey from Thoughts and Afterthoughts, as well as Trisha Ann from The Bookgasm Blog. Thanks so much for the tag! I love getting into the mindset of a villain. I’ve been told I’m pretty good at it.

Think of your own villain identity and power!

I would totally be a teleporting baddie! I could teleport myself into banks, museums, and other important places and you know, do that stealing thing most villains do!

As for my name I would probably go with Porter (how original right?), and my costume would be black and navy blue. I would have a mask and some kick as retractable baton just in case I need to battle some heroes.

Have I put too much thought into this?

The Leader – Pick a villain to lead the squad

The Darkling from The Grisha Trilogy would probably be the one I would choose. But he would be a wild card. Too thirsty for power and very unpredictable.

The Darkling

My second choice would be Kaz Brekker from Six of Crows. I know he’s technically not a villain. But he is a thief/assassin type guy. And also a leader in his own way. I would definitely want him to lead the pack.

The Killer Smile – Pick a villain who’s just extremely attractive

Can I retract my previous answer and say Kaz and the Darkling again? No? Fine….

I will go with Prince Magnus Damora from the first book in the Falling Kingdoms series. Why just the first book? Well… he’s vert morally ambiguous. He does both good and bad things. But in the first book he was definitely a baddie like his father!

Prince Magnus

The Loose Canon – Pick a villain that marches to the beat of their own drum

Queen Levana from the Lunar Chronicles. She is legit only in it for herself. All the power and domination has gone to her head. Although I haven’t read Winter or even Fairest… I still think she best fits this role.

Queen Levana

The Unhinged One – Pick a villain that isn’t playing with a full deck.

Amara Cortas from Gathering Darkness, book 3 of the Falling Kingdom series. She is ruthless, heartless, cold, and definitely unhinged. Can’t wait to get to explore her more in book 4!

Amara Cortas

The Redeemer – Pick a villain that’s on a path of redemption/would play both sides

Ok, so I haven’t read The Rose Society by Marie Lu yet. But from the first book The Young Elites I know Adelina is constantly struggling with this mindset. She has a growing evil in her with her shadow powers and I can totally seeing her play both sides in the future!

Adelina Young Elites

The Evil One – Pick a Villain That’s Just Bad to the Bone

Gaius Damora, the Blood King from Falling Kingdoms Series. There is a very specific reason why he is known as the Blood King. Ruthless, brutal, conniving, and just plain evil.

King Gaius

The Once-Was-Good – Pick a villain that didn’t originally start out as a villain.

There’s a certain character from The Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard that would fit into this category. I can’t say who, because spoilers… but it did come as a surprise for me. Or maybe I just didn’t see it quick enough.

Well there you have it! The Villain Squad Tag. I had a lot of fun picking and dissecting these particular villains. Some of them are my favorites, and some I just loathe….

But anyway. I hope you enjoyed this fun tag!

Until next time,

  1. Reason #816312 as to why Darkling is truly your squad leader: because you already established backstory for him, with all of his mysteriousness and likely layering of clothes and smirks and grins. And you are the one with the power to keep em in check. LOL.

  2. Porter, you sound like one hell of a villain with your baton trademark!
Hmmm I haven’t read the Falling Kingdoms yet. Did you know there’s actually a book tag on it too? Crazy! I’ve been tagged last week and I’m saying in advance I’m tagging you on my future #ConqueringKingdoms book tag post! XD

  3. I am always thoroughly confused for those of you who say you saw the Red Queen twist coming! I was oblivious the entire way through, I was even rooting for this specific character until the twist happened. It was probably the most exciting part of the novel for me. 😂
