Phew. What a title! This week’s topic is super exciting because I love reading new authors. And every once in a while I will fall in love with their books. Now this love will grow into an obsession, and that obsession will make me pull my hair out waiting for their sophomore releases. Am I the only like this?

Let’s see who made the list shall we?

8. Will Walton

Will Walton Anything Could HappenWill Walton does not have any current books in the works right now. So I will have to just sit back and continue to wait then.

7. Mamrie Hart

Mamrie Hart You Deserve a DrinkOne of my favorite YouTubers and also one of my favorite books of the year! I can’t wait to read another book written by Mamrie and her drunk debacles!

6. Jasmine Warga

Jasmine Warga My Heart and Other Black HolesWe currently have a release date for sometime in 2016 for Jasmine’s newest book, and if it is as heart wrenching as her debut, then I know it’s for sure going to be a hit!

5. Virginia Boecker

Virginia Boecker The Witch HunterOne of the best fantasy debuts I have read this year and I am super exciting to get my hands on book 2 next year. I know it’s going to be just as awesome!

4. Victoria Aveyard

Victoria Aveyard Red QueenAnother fantastic debut fantasy. The second one is only months away from being released and I’m itching to know what happens next. This series has a ton of potential!

3. Nicola Yoon

Nicola Yoon Everything, EverythingHands down one of the most touching books I’ve read this year. It was so creatively written that I can’t wait to see what Nicola has in store for us next. I wouldn’t mind know what happens to Maddy’s life after Everything, Everything.

2. Adam Silvera

Adam Silvera More Happy Than NotI am More Happy Than Not to say that Adam has his sophomore release in 2016 and I can’t wait! I know it’s going to be equally as epic as his debut was!

1. Becky Albertalli

Becky Albertalli Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens AgendaThis one goes into my top 10 contemporaries of all time. This book was life and I don’t know what I would have done without reading about the cuties Simon and Blue. Her sophomore release is going to be in 2016 and I am mostly anticipating it above all the rest!

Well there you have it! The Top 10 (8) Debut Authors I’m Looking Forward to Their Sophomore Releases. It’s a shame I couldn’t actually come up with ten debut authors this year. So here’s to hoping I get to read a lot more debuts next year!

  1. I must admit Jesse, the only one I’ve read of these is Red Queen and o couldn’t agree more. I really enjoyed book one, and can’t wait to see where she takes the series. I did get slightly excited and then has to read the first authors name again. I thought you said Wil Wheaton. I was getting my fist ready to shake while shouting WHEATON! Great list Jesse, off to check a few of these out ❤

  3. I can’t believe I still haven’t gotten round to reading More Happy Than Not. A lot of your picks have made it to my must read radar so hopefully I can get my hands on some of their works soon. 😀
