I was tagged by Ashley from Socially Awkward Bookworm to do the Pastry Book Tag. It looks like fun and I love me some pastries so I decided to give it a go. If you haven’t checked Ashley out, then please do so, she’s awesome.
Croissant: Name a popular book or series that everyone (including you) loves.
Do I have to even say anything here? I mean come on, it’s Harry fricking Potter! I’m sure this series is the reason you all love to read in the first place, and if it isn’t then you still love it regardless.
Now if you are the sole person in this world that does not love Harry Potter then I will Wingardium Leviosa your butt to Mars. Bye bye!
.
Macaron: Name a book that was hard to get through but worth it at the end.
Let me tell you how hard it was to get through the first quarter of this book. Everyone and I mean everyone was falling in love with someone. I mean it felt like everyone HAD to be in love or the story wouldn’t make sense. It wasn’t until the real story started unfolding that things started getting good.
.
Vol-au-vent: Name a book that you thought would be amazing but fell flat.
-Cough cough- I’m sorry to all the Lunar Chronicle fans, but this book was so damn predictable and the characters except Iko were flat as hell. I will say the the rest of the series so far has been quite enjoyable.
.
Pain au chocolat: Name a book that you thought would be one thing but turned out to be something else.
I thought this was going to be as kick ass as Crown of Midnight and Heir of Fire because it is written by the same author, but that ending quarter was just so odd. It started out great just as I expected it to… and then it got weird and a little uncomfortable in the cave.
.
Profiterole: Name a book or series that doesnβt get enough attention.
This was such a sweet story with a cool graphic novel written by the main protagonist. I loved every minute reading it and wished there was more Andrew x Rusty love story β€
No one seems to talk about it much though which is really sad!
.
Croquembouche: Name a book or series thatβs extremely complex.
This book right here had me so confused with all the sci-fi lingo pertaining to the story itself. The world Brown created is so complex that I had to read and re-read a couple pages in order to get clarification!
.
Napoleon: Name a movie or TV show based off a book that you liked better than the book itself.
As much as I enjoyed The DUFF, I can confidently say that I loved the movie so much more. It was hilariously funny and deviated a bit from the book’s concept without losing the story line in the process. You guys should go check it out if you haven’t already!
.
Empanada: Name a book that was bittersweet.
Yes this book was very bittersweet. Although I did enjoy it quite a bit, the hype ruined my high expectations. I was wanting new and innovative, but instead I got repetitive and old. If there was no hype to this book I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more than I did.
.
Kolompeh: Name a book or series that takes place somewhere other than your home country.
I could literally say everything book that I have read because this book is obviously aimed towards Americans… but I will pick a book that is in a totally different world then our own. That is non other than the epic high fantasy that is Falling Kingdoms. Set in Mytica, a realm in an alternate universe as many fantasy novels tend to be set in.
.
Pate a Choux: Name one food from a book or series that you would like to try.
That apple on the Twilight cover. Yes… that is right. I chose the apple from the cover. Why you ask? Well I don’t really pay attention to the food aspects when I’m reading a book and that apple just looks so damn yummy!
.

Oh my gosh. This tag makes me so hungry!! I think I might have to include pictures of all the pastries when I do this tag to make it extra enticing π
I kind of agree that ACOTAR got a little bit weird towards the end. I loved most of the book, and even a lot of the cave scenes, but I found it a bit weird and uncomfortable when Rhys got involved. THIS SERIES DOES NOT NEED A LOVE TRIANGLE.

I totally agree with you on that, but of course its going to happen. And at the rate SJM is going with her books by book three she will have a new love interest and Tamlin and Rhys will be forgotten xD

Thank you for the tag! If somebody doesn’t love Harry Potter they’re probably crazy. I’ll definitely do this, I already know what I want to answer for a few of them π

Yummy! Thanks for tagging me, Jesse! π
I’ve yet to read ACOTAR but probably when the hype die down a little.
Almost all people are saying that about Red Queen so I’ll take your word for it. I’m guessing it’s just slightly/no different from The Heirs series.

It’s nothing spectacular but it’s not bad either. I quite enjoyed it π

So glad you did this tag! And great choices! I just finished the Harry Potter series for the first time this year and I really loved it! Now I need to get to seeing the movies! I’ve only watched the first 3 so far this year. I’ve never seen those either until this year. π I’ve seriously been missing out!

You’re even worse than me on the Harry Potter train! At least I’ve seen all the movies. It’s the gigantic books that are intimidating me π
