First off I just want to thank Syc over @ The Lit Mermaid for tagging me to do this fun post. I’ve been looking forward for weeks to write it up and now I finally have! So if you haven’t checked out her blog, I urge you to do so. It’s so pretty. Blogger envy right here!
Do you get sick while reading in the car?
It honestly depends. Cars and buses yes, trains and airplanes no. If I tend to think about it too much then it just whips me out of no where and I feel really nauseous to the point of no return. So I refrain from doing so.
Which author’s writing style is completely unique to you and why?
I would honestly have to say Morgan Rhodes. (Surprise, surprise) I just seem to be feel the most connected to her writing. I find it extremely captivating and alluring all at the same time. I get really engrossed in her books that I have troubles focusing on anything else!
Harry Potter Series or the Twilight Saga? Give 3 points to defend your answer.
- I have completely read all the books of Twilight… but sadly have only read the first two of Harry Potter.
- It really wasn’t that bad of a series… sure the second book sucked out loud, but it got better with time. Maybe?
- I really just want Edward Cullen all to myself to be honest. (Not Robert Pattenson though)
Do you carry a book bag? If so, what is in it (besides books)?
Usually you’ll fine my lunch, wallet, keys, sunglasses, iPod, chapstick, a pen, an umbrella, my notebook/agenda, and either the current book I’m reading or my e-reader.
Do you smell your books?
All the freaking time. I love the smell of freshly printed books! It’s kind of like how some people like the smell of gasoline or permanent marker… yeah it’s weird, but I love it!
Books with or without little illustrations.
As I just recently read Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon, I can now say I like illustrations in books. But don’t get me wrong… not too many though!
What book did you love while reading but discovered later it wasn’t quality writing?
Does Twilight count? This was probably everyone’s answer! HAHA
Do you have any funny stories involving books from your childhood? Please share!
I wasn’t a huge huge reader as a kid. I mean I read some books, like A Series and Unfortunate Events… but none where a really funny story derives from. Sorry!
What is the tinniest book on your shelf?
Currently the tiniest book on my shelf goes to a copy of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass. It’s not terribly tiny… but it is the tiniest I have!
What is the thickest book on your shelf?
Maybe… A Court of Thorns and Roses? It is also one of my tallest books too!
Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself in the future as being an author?
I have all these ideas in my head that I just can’t seem to get down on paper. Maybe I just haven’t found my muse yet. But I would definitely want to an author in the future. But I feel like I have a long ways to go before I even get to brain storming and story boarding. Maybe I should take a creative writing course and start to get my creative juices flowing!
When did you get into reading?
I only really got into reading as much as I do, maybe 3 years ago? It hasn’t been that long unfortunately. I’m sure I’ve missed some great books!
What is your favorite classic book?
I think I have expressed this before in a previous post, but I really loved S.E. Hinton’s The Outsiders! I read it multiple times over the years for school and for fun and I just can’t get enough. It may not be a classic classic like Gone with the Wind or Jane Eyre… but it holds a special place in my heart!
In school what was your best subject Language Arts/English?
I have no idea? I only remember taking English classes where we might have learned about Language Arts? This questions confuses me a bit! HAHA
If you were given a book as a present that you had read before and hated, what would you do?
I would probably keep it just because. I love receiving books as presents. It really shows that the person is thinking about me and that they want to show they care. So what better way then in the form of a book? If I didn’t like that book it would still feel special to me in a way. I may never read it again… but when I see it, it will remind me of that person!
What is a lesser known series that you know of that is similar to Harry Potter or the Hunger Games?
What is a bad habit you always do (besides rambling) while blogging?
Check twitter. Twitter is horrible. It is such a distraction. I have no self control. I can go there to check something realy quick and a half hour will fly by. Shame on me. Bye Twitter.
What is your favorite word?
Are you a nerd, dork, or dweeb? Or all of the above?
All of the above. A nerd is smart, a dweeb is awkward, and a dork is silly. So yes I am all of the above. I’m geek too. So let’s through that one in there.
Vampires or Fairies? Why?
I’d probably have to say Vampires. They’re cooler in general. Faeries are pretty with their magic and stuff… but vampires are sexy and cool. Definitely more up my alley!
Shapeshifters or Angels? Why?
Angels? I don’t think I’ve read a shapeshifter book yet. Maybe I should though.
Spirits or Werewolves? Why?
Werewolves! Yum yum. Can we have a little more Teen Wolf?!? Yes please. Sexy Sexy werewolves! HAHA
Zombies or Vampires? Why?
Vampires again most likely. Zombies can be a bit on the boring side.
Love Triangle or Forbidden Love?
Forbidden Love. So much ANGST! It’s frustrating… but yeah. Angst is great!
And finally: Full on romance books or action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in?
Action packed with some love mixed in. Why not have the best of both worlds! Action packed books are that much more exciting!!
I choose you Pikachu!
